It’s official: I will be singing the role of Lauretta in Puccini’s hysterical opera Gianni Schicchi this summer at the Astoria Music Festival in Astoria, Oregon! The funny thing is that my Rinuccio will be Ben Gulley, who was just the Tamino to my Pamina at Opera SLO!
I have an exciting update: I will be singing Pamina in Mozart’s The Magic Flute with Opera San Luis Obispo in 2013! I am excited to meet and work with the talented directors and cast in the beautiful, artistic community of SLO!
For those who don’t already know, I will be returning to the Hawaii Performing Arts Festival this July in Waimea, HI! I will be singing Soprano in Handel’s “L’Allegro, il Penseroso ed il Moderato”, directed by James Darrah and musical director Stephen Stubbs. I will also be a featured soloist in Brad Ellis’ musical theater/ cabaret production. In addition, I will be returning as an RA (Resident Advisor); therefore I am a pseudo-staff member. I am extremely excited!
I have more wonderful news! I am one of the finalists for the 36th Annual Carmel Music Society’s 2012 Vocal Competition! The judges are Ruth Ann Swenson, Dr. Clifford Cranna, and Nicholas McGegan. I will travel to Carmel, CA on May 18 to compete with the 25 minute recital program that I submitted.
I am extremely excited to announce that I am one of the winners of the American Educators of Italian Origin (AEIOU) 42nd Annual Opera Scholarship Competition! Past winners include Carol Vaness, Deborah Voight, and Rod Gilfry. I will be singing Nanetta’s Aria from Verdi’s Falstaff at the dinner dance in downtown Los Angeles at the Casa Italiana this Saturday night, March 24.
